Although quilling has been around for literally ages, this technique is seeing a resurgence in the world of paper crafting.
So for our 2nd day of the Holiday DIY Dish, we wanted to share with you how this technique is done as well as show you a few different ideas for seasonal cards!
Now wasn’t that fun? 😉
And we’d love to hear from YOU!
If you have ever tried quilling before, what have you made? Also, we’re sure many out there are paper crafting away right now- whether it be holiday cards, scrapbooking, table settings, and more, we want to see what you’re making! If you have a blog, you can even let us know that so we can come by and check it out!
We’re excited to kick off our season of holiday quick clips with introducing you to a festive dish that has been handed down in our family for generations.
Our very own grandmother each year made this and so in her honor, we would like to share it with all of you!
It’s quick and so very easy to make! Have you ever tried your hand at seeding a pomegranate? It’s actually a lot easier than you may think, and we’ll show you how!
And we’d love to hear from YOU!
We know you have some “tried-and-true” recipes that have become a tradition in YOUR families! Please share! We’d love to read your favorites! Post below and let us know. We’re sure we will all be inspired! We think this is the best time of year to keep with family traditions as well as trying something new!
We thought it would be fun to change things up a bit for the holidays and create a very fun and interactive countdown! We’re calling it “The 12 Days of the Holiday DIY Dish!” We hope you will join us and share YOUR ideas as well! Beginning this Wednesday, we will keep our mini video camera in hand and share all kinds of ideas for decorating, gift-giving, traditions, baking, and more. But we also want to hear from you and what you do! So check a new, short video out each day and share your comments on the blog.
We will be returning to our full, regularly-scheduled episodes in January. Until then, join in the fun with our holiday countdown series. If you have a blog, we’d love for you to share this with your friends, too! Below is a blog button and code that will make it easy to add. Thank you so much for sharing!
See you Wednesday!

Good morning! If you are celebrating Thanksgiving this week, we wish you a very happy one. This week we are posting 2 video clips of a recent segment on KSL/NBC’s Studio 5 program.
Remember our 1st episode of Season 2 had you making owl pin cushions! Watch how Kris showed Studio 5 viewers how to take that same pattern and make an “owl garland”, oversized stuffed animals, and more — all with the same pattern!
Following that first segment on Studio 5, we both had a chance to sit with Brooke and Darin to give them “the dish” on what happened AFTER the Nate Berkus Show episode. They wanted to see what all of those items really looked like in our homes once we got back from New York. So here it is! (Oh, and if you watch very closely at the beginning of the segment, you’ll catch Kim wiping lipstick off of Kris’ teeth! Little did Kim know that the cameras were rolling! Ahhh…the beauty of live television! So when you see us all laughing about it at the beginning, that’s what happened. Hey, isn’t that what sisters are for? We craft together…and wipe lipstick off of each other’s teeth.
On a personal note, our grandmother passed away a few days ago and it has been a difficult, yet sweet time to remember her beautiful life. She was our confidant, cheerleader, and one of our very dearest friends. It’s certainly a time for reflection for many reasons. We are grateful for family and good friends.
Have a wonderful week,
Kim & Kris
