Such a beautiful fabric line and thank you for presenting this interview with Anna Maria Horne. Many thanks to Anna for the free design download…hand embroidery was my first craft as a child.
Love the rich colors and patterns in her fabric. I am intrigued with the laminated cotton…especially that it is much softer and pliable than what I’ve seen used for furniture upholstery fabric. I think it would be wonderful for children’s bibs, diaper bags, makeup bags, etc.
What is now called “hand embroidery” used to be “Crewel work”. I am excited to see it come back in an updated style.

What a great inspiration and so talented. Her fabrics are truly wonderful. Congratulations Anna
Loved to see this video: as much I as *know* AMH is from the US, somehow when I read her voice I never hear the accent (I’m from Scotland) so it is surreal but lovely to see her speak in person. Great little interview!
My favourite thing about her blog: any passage about the amazing team spirit her family have. They all seem to work together on everything, share love and hobbies and passions. I don’t have my own family yet but I sincerely hope we shall be as cohesive (and as hip!) as the AMH’s family are.
Thanks for sharing this great interview–love the large scale floral print in Loulouthi!
I love the baby zig-zap quilt featured in the “make” section of Anna Maria’s website. Was also excited to discover her kitchen towels–didn’t know she designed kitchen items.

This is an old one – but my favorite thing on AMH’s website is baby Roman squealing with laughter at his dog.
Just love that Anna Maria Horner! She embodies so much of what I wish for in a balance of modern life while keeping alive womens handiwork traditions that need to be passed down for future generations! I’m already patiently waiting for those Loulouthi fabrics, now the embroidery threads to look forward to! Thank you for showcasing her – you all are awesome!
Wonderful giveaway!
I love Ann Maria!! I’ve been a blog follower and group of hers for a very very very long time. What inspires me most is her unusual use of colors that just pop right out. Not always for the faint of heart but I love her boldness and brave use of her palettes.

Great Interview and site. Anna Maria’s work is amazing and so creative, this new embroidery line is so inspiring I wanted the thread the second I saw it!
I’m also a longtime reader of Anna’s blog and everything there is fun to read, her personality really shines through her writing. I especially love when she posts tips on how to create the free patterns that she has up there.

The free styled quilted pillow caught my eye!
In fact it all really did and does every time I look at her fabric, patterns, and quality in her work one of my very FAVORITE things about that fantastic woman is THE TEXTURE you can almost feel in her fabrics. She involves so much color and texture in her designs and coming from a gal who LOVES texture…let’s just say I go nuts when I see her stuff!
Absolutely nuts!!!
I especially LOVE the pillow I mentioned above because of the dimension the hand quilting adds to the fabric. Which she showed some closer up pics on her blog. And the fact that the hand embroidery matches the design. It follows the shapes and flowers and that is too awesome-I love it!
I would LOVE if I could get my hands on some of these goodies!! It is crazy I have never hand embroidered yet…but have done every other crafty thing it feels. I can’t wait to try my hands at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much Kim and Kris for all you do-I love to visit your blog and see all the wonderful inspiration that is to be found here:)
Hugs!
;)

I LOVE Anna Maria! Although when I saw her video I was positive that was one of her daughters, not her, doing the instructing! Oh, if only I looked so young! But I LOVE her fabrics, especially the Loulouthi collection. They are beautiful and inspiring just themselves. I want to make a dress or top and skirt from Clippings in Passion and Summer Totem in Grapefruit with some Curated Bloom in Patina thrown in for good measure. I simply love this new collection and wish there was some velveteen in here like the Innocent Crush collection has!
And now she has embroidery cottons. I am SO tempted. But not talented. But now I might have to try. Thank you Anna Maria, for inspiring us.

What caught my eye on her site? You’re kidding, right? Everything! I have been drooling over both of her sewing books hoping to sew and create as she does. I also love her Folk Dance Quilt design…if only quilting didn’t scare the bejeebers out of me…
I love the scale difference between the quilting cottons and voiles. And as a florist I can’t go past the all those giant garden roses and te colour.

I found your website and am excited about visiting more often. I have been a fan of anna Maria’s for ahile now. When my husband sees her site on the screen he says “Stop tempting my wife!” It doesn’t work. I really like the Loulouthi pillow with the white background and can imagine it in my little girl’s room, and I could certainly play around with some of the new floss in quilting for my soon to arive baby girl.

That drawing room fabric on her site is fabulous. I could definitely use about a million yards of it.
Wow do I feel like a slacker. Six children and a quilt and fabric designer, that is amazing. I’m very excited about the needlework collection.
Although I love all of her fabrics and designs on her webpage, the thing I love (and covet) most is her attic studio. Speaking as one who as to bring out the machine everytime she wants to sew on the kitchen table, I am amazingly jealous of that space.
I love AMH’s fabric and the MAKE section is wonderful. As an embroider, I am totally looking forward to checking out her new threads!
O gosh, Anna Maria is my favorite fabric designer and it was such a treat to actually see and hear her talk about her work! I do a lot of my own embroidery so this would definitely be cherished and well-used if I won! Thank you for the opportunity!

Loved the interview. Visited Anna Maria’s blog and I loved the hand quilted pillow. Thanks Kim and Kris for the DIY dish.
I wish I had better access to Anna’s stuff. Up in Canada, it’s a lot harder to find, and shipping from elsewhere can be quite costly. I would love the new embroidery kits, I’ve been slowly teaching my girls how to embroider and stitch for the past few years. My fav. thing on her website is the “free” section…how can you not love that??
I have been a fan of Anna for so long. Her figure 8 scarf in Innocent Crush Voile is on my mind right now.
Incredible- I’ll be sewing away for months with all this inspiration. Must make that quilted pillow on the AMH blog:)
I LOVED the interview and love knowing that Anna Maria Horner is teaming up with Janome. I think she is truly an inspirational person. I love how she continues to provide wonderful fabric and patterns that are fun for all to make. She has done great things for the sewistas in this world!
Her colors outshine the normal embroidery colors – so alive – love it
I have been a huge fan of hers for years. I always love the quilts she does and she has me inspired to try hand embroidery…and now she makes it easy!
I actually just came from Anna’s blog to watch this video. I think my favorite thing about AMH is the COLOR! She has amazing color combinations that I would have never thought of! And I’m pretty sure the embroidered flower that is currently the banner for her blog (that I have admired for a while now) also comes from the new free pattern!
I just love the colors of that embroidery floss! I just got information to sign up at a local fabric shop for an embroidery class. What great timing!

So excited Anna Marie is offering embroidery floss!
I have always been a fan of super bright and pattern mixing much to my mothers dismay. “Never put pink and red together, blue and green don’t match; don’t mix plaids and stripes,” I was always told. I love to see stuff like Anna Maria Horners, Thanks for a great interview.
Anna Maria never disappoints, her new line of fabric and needlework goods is to die for!! She is everyone’s fave designer for a reason
Can’t wait to get my hands on all that new stuff, it is gorgeous!!
Thanks for the great interview! I don’t have to look at Mrs. Horners blog, I follow it religeously. She is fabulous, I became obsessed when I met her at quilt market last year! I love her hand quilting!

I would love to win these great threads! I’m just teaching my self Crewel embroidery and the colors are amazing!
Anna Maria is an inspiration to me. I started following her blog when she had the chocolate lollipop line out. I am excited about her new line of embroidery and her new relationship with Janome. I have a Janome that has been unused for about 2 years because of sad things going on in my life. I am hoping to get some of Anna Maria’s new fabric and start using my sewing machine again.
Awesome site
I too am a big fan of the lovely Anna Marie Horner! such beautiful patterns, fabrics and COLORS!!
I love Anna Maria’s patterns and her creativity!
I love Anna Maria Horner, she’s one of the first blogs I found and started reading and reunited my passion for making (and finishing). I usually find myself staring longingly at the fabric bundles in her shop, so I’ll pick the Innocent Crush voile in the Train Case Packed stack for what caught my eye today.

Hello Everyone
,
While I was watching this interview with my daughters, I LOVED the beautiful pillows!!!!
Each one is an art. We were thinking of all the possibilities to refresh our old sofa’s look by sewing a few new pillow. It gave us an inspiration and this is a fact.
Thank you all and happy stitching!

Thanks for the great interview – I have been a fan of Anna Marie’s for a long time. Glad to be a new to your site fan.
I enjoyed the interview. I love all the bright colors.
Exquisite palette! I would love to dig my fingers into this lovely embroidery thread!
I am a hand embroidery maniac, and I have even taught classes. I love the first page of Anna Maria Horner’s website where she shows one of her fabrics that focuses on a beautiful butterfly and then mirrors that half with an exact replica in embroidery. It is so beautiful, and I think it would make a REALLY quick and fantastic Christmas present when framed in an inexpensive frame possibly even ready to finish painted in one of her fabulous signature colors.
