Click on the video below and find out how to make these!

If you are new to our site, be sure to sign up for our free newsletter! You’ll also be entered to win a Janome sewing machine or embroidery machine!
Here’s what we’re making!

Download the free pattern for the felt flowers here.
(Be sure to watch the video above so you can find out how to make these!)
And although Tuesday’s show is more about how to make those unique flowers for embellishing pillows, we knew you might like to know the measurements we used for making the pillows themselves. So here they are:

Have fun!
(We’d love for you to share it with your friends, too! Feel free to embed the video on your blog!)
*Don’t forget to sign up for your chance to win a Janome sewing machine or embroidery machine! Details here.

Love Love Love these. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talents.
I just love the pillows- I have found that instead of using a candle, a woodburner works great- just heat it up and run it along the edge of the fabric- fast and no flame to entice the pyro-child.
These are absolutely adorable! Where did you find the fabric you ised for the pillows?!
Love these
I can’t seem to find where to watch the video on the pillows can someone give me a hint
You two did a fabulous job today on Studio 5!!! The pillows are adorable and the flowers are just as adorable. I think I will give it a try.
Patchwork pillows have been beyond me. I’m going to try these. Thanks, ladies!
I am sure it will be posted here in no time. In the mean time if you go to Studio5′s home page, http://studio5.ksl.com/ , on the left side, 5 videos down, you can find the link, “Pillows with Pizzaz”.
Thanks everyone for your kind words on the pillows! They are so easy to make and a lot of fun! Some have asked where we got the fabric — we found it at Hobby Lobby. They just had a new line of decorator fabric come out. Fun stuff!
-Kim & Kris

Cute project!
Great job, those flowers can be used for a lot of different things!
Love this pillow, I hope it’s not over my head…I mainly do children’s clothing so anything off that beaten track throws me! LOL but I’m gonna try–cuz these are just TOO CUTE!
Janelle
Thank you guys so much! I love these flowers, and will try them straight away. It was great to learn the bit about melting the fabric with the candle. At the risk of sounding like a pyromaniac it look like a ton of fun. Looking forward to whatever is next.
Embellishing techniques like this is what I lack in my own sewing sphere, so thanks for teaching this melting technique. Those flowers are sweet and whimsical. Am looking forward to more; you probably won’t be able to keep up with our voracious appetites!
These are fantastic!!
Can’t wait for the launch of TheDIY Dish,
it will be so enjoyable and informative.
Have a great d ay!
I love these!
Love the tute! Really looking forward to the official launch!
Thanks so much for the great Tut! A craft that involves sitting by a good smelling candle is just wonderful!
Melissa
I love this! I cant wait to make these.
This is awesome can’t wait to begin makeing these flowers, keep on having fun together. What a great pair, and so very talented, I will try to keep up with you lol.
Kim and Kris, before we start on the project, can you tell us what size of pillow forms to get for the these, or did you just stuff them with batting?
Hi Ellen! Great question!
Since the pillows were odd shapes, as well as decorative pillows that wouldn’t be washed (but spot-cleaned) we didn’t use pillow forms. We stuffed with batting.
-Kim & Kris
so CUTE!!! Great tutorial as well!
These look wonderful. If I win the sewing machine I could make them. LOL
Those are some cute pillows. I love the flowers. You can never have enough flowers.
fabulous! thank you
I love these little flowers! They look so fun! In fact, I have a friend that I think would love this! I’ll tell her about it, and maybe we can make some flowers together!!

Can’t wait to make these with some of my students!
beautiful pillows- easy project-fun to teach kids and a good use of scrap fabric. Kids come up with great color/design combos. I have been off line a while since you first came on studio 5 and had ask if you were related to the Osmonds-same gorgeous hair, eyes, teethy samiles and bubbly attitudes????
Hi Kathryn!
Actually, I’m a little bit of country…Kris is a little bit of Rock-n-Roll.
You’re so nice. No, we are not related to the Osmonds, although we could write a book on all the funny stories that have happened to us because of the similarity.
I’m glad you found the site! Have fun making these pillows!
-Kim
Such a great set of pillows and the flowers are cute! I need a wedding gift…I am thinking this would make a wonderful gift for the young couple! Look forward to all your videos!

I look forward to watching your show. Lynn Wiater
Handy sewer? Does that include the “I can’t sew in front of the kids, because they can’t hear that kind of language” sewers? Or so my husband tells me
Those look great. I may have to give one of these ideas a try, but my uncrafty fingers won’t do you guys justice.
By the way, it was great to meet you at Blissdom! You both are so cute and fun.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the organza flowers! I’m making my bedding for my little girl due in June and was looking for something to add to them, and you ladies created it! Thanks SO much for the creativity that you share with the rest of us!!
I like these ideas! Certainly worth sharing with Sew-Whats-New.com in the near future!! Keep up the great work
These are so incredibly gorgeous!
Nice work you do.
You girls are a joy to watch! I quilt and make all sorts of pillows out of all sorts of fabric and I love your take on the pieced ones with flowers. I do have a question, though. Without burning down the house by experimenting with different fabrics that will burn nicely around the edges, what other fabrics besides tulle, satin, and organza can be used?
Loved watching the video and put a link to your web on my blog. Look forward to seeing more shows.

Would the organza flowers be machine washable? Was thinking of adding them to some of my daughter’s clothing but pins might be better if they won’t hold up well in the wash.

Best of luck with the show ~ looks like a winner to me.

OK, so I am watching this segment for like the 100th time….I just love you guys! I am wanting to make some pillows pretty soon and I was wondering if you used premade pillow forms or if you used a type of filling for the pillows?
Everything is just adorable on here. And very fasionable. Oh how I want a craft room and fabric galore! So fun!!!!
The pillows are adorable. My daughter just moved into a new place, and I want to make some of these for her to perk up her living room. I can’t wait for your new launch. Would love to win one of the sewing machines, My daughter in law lost hers to a flood, what a surprise that would be for her to have a new machine. She is so sweet, I couldn’t have picked a better daughter if I had tried.

I just signed up for the absolutely wonderful machine giveaway. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to more great ideas from the two of you. THANKS!!
Loved your first episode! You really look like you’re having fun and I liked that your felt rolling wasn’t absolutely perfect! Some times “easy-peasy” doesn’t look so “easy peasy” when you don’t see the actual process but only the finished step!
Very good show!!! Can’t wait until the next one.
thanks for coming up with this “show”. As someone who has returned to sewing after 35 yrs the video and step by step inst. are very helpful. Will be a frequent visitor.
I can’t wait to try making your felt flowers! Thanks for sharing the pattern on your blog!

I really want to do these pillows for my bedroom. I noticed in the fabric store that the fabric you used was heavier. I have found some fabric I like, but one of them is the heavier canvas and the rest are cotton. Is this going to be a problem? I’m obviously a very amateur sewer.

I had problems playing the video. I would click to start the video, the icon would spin, but the video would never start. The solution for me was to update the Adobe Flash Player.
Go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ -The screen will tell you what version of Flash Player you currently have and below is the recommended version for each browser, such as FireFox, Internet Explorer, etc.
I visited several websites however the audio quality for audio songs current
at this site is actually excellent.
